New Skill Levels arrive in the first week of June

By on Saturday, 22nd of May 2010 08:38 pm

Hi everybody,

the IUF Skill Level Committee has finished the requirements for new Levels. Based on them, we will see different implementations, which I am really excited about. The first drafts will arrive in the first week of June. We are also really excited what the public will say about them. We are looking forward to your Feedback. This is how to get in contact with us:

  • If you have a Facebook-Account then you can join the New IUF Skill Levels Group, where I will frequently post about updates.
  • The second option is to follow the IUF on Twitter, where I will post updates as well.
  • You can send me an email, and I will put you on a list, where I will push updates, too.

Working transparency is very important to me, though you are given the ability to watch over our shoulder while we are working. Read the Skill Level Forums, where we are discussing varios topics at the moment.

Best regards

Structuring Unicycling Skills

By on Tuesday, 6th of April 2010 01:06 pm

A bit of unicycle theory today. I was questioning myself if there is a system that could structure unicycling skills across all disciplines. I have done an analysis of systems I found, find pros and cons for each and in the end I come up with a new approach. You can read the whole story in my article Structuring Unicycling Skills and I would love to receive your Feedback. Thank you very much in advance.

Cheers

First IUF Meeting Highlights

By on Wednesday, 10th of March 2010 12:38 am

Hello fellow unicyclists!

I hope all is well! On behalf of the IUF Executive Board and Representatives, I am very excited to begin work on improving, modernizing and strengthening the international unicycling community in the next few years. As a starting point, the IUF Executive Board held our first meeting a few weeks ago to begin discussing goals and priorities, the future of the sport and necessary improvements. Please take a few minutes to look over our first meeting’s minutes, http://iufinc.org/about/minutes, if you would like to see which specific areas were discussed. A few highlights:

- Membership: The IUF is looking to establish an official membership system by 2012. Many details are still being worked out, but we will keep you updated as we begin to put the structure in place.

- Post-UNICON Survey: In the next few days, UNICON 15 participants will be receiving a survey aimed to assist us in planning future events. Please take a few moments to voice your opinion!

- Committees: We are pleased to announce that four committees are already up and running, with a few more in the works. Rulebook, Convention, World Records and Skill Level Development Committee Chairs’ contact information can all be found on our website, http://iufinc.org/committees. Committee Chairs will also soon begin blogging about their respective committee’s progress.

- Website and Social Media: Thanks to our webmaster Gossi, the IUF is now connected to Twitter and Facebook! If you want to be even more up-to-date with the IUF, make sure you follow us. In addition, if there is any content that you would like to see on our new website, please let us know!

Thanks again for your continued support for the IUF!
